Russia Biggest Attack on Ukraine; Two Killed, 15 Injured
In Brief
Russia's largest attack on Ukraine
Attack with 805 drones and missiles
Government buildings targeted, 2 dead, 15 injured
Russia has launched the largest attack on Ukraine. By combining drone and missile strikes, Russia targeted 37 areas including the capital Kyiv. Two people have died in this action and 15 civilians have been injured. The deceased include a one-year-old child. Russia used a total of 805 drones and 13 missiles. Ukraine's air force claims to have shot down 747 of those drones and 4 missiles.
Reacting to these events, Ukraine's Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko said, "Buildings can be rebuilt, but lives cannot be brought back. The international community must act beyond mere words of condemnation. More stringent sanctions should be imposed on Russia."
In recent days, 26 allied countries had shown readiness to send troops as a 'reassurance force' for Ukraine's security. Analysts believe that it is against this backdrop that Russia launched this major attack. On the other hand, although European leaders have called on Putin to end the war, the conflict appears to be intensifying.
The repercussions of this war are not limited to Ukraine alone but are being felt worldwide. The tensions in international politics, fluctuations in the fuel market, and the impact on the global economy are becoming more pronounced. As human casualties increase, the international community's demand for concrete and effective measures is gaining momentum. Experts believe the current situation has reached a decisive stage.
