(Michigan Church Firing) A horrific shooting occurred during Sunday morning worship in Grand Blanc Township, Michigan. An assailant crashed a vehicle into the door of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) and began indiscriminate shooting. The church was then set on fire. Many people were injured in the incident, with some in critical condition. According to police, the suspect has been killed.

Local officials said that hundreds of people were present in the church. The entire building was burned down in the fire that broke out after the shooting. Although official figures have not yet been released, it has been reported that some children were also injured. The injured have been admitted to the nearby Henry Ford Genesis Hospital, with one person in critical condition, while the other seven are stable.

FBI Chief Kash Patel responded by saying, “Any violence at a place of worship is cowardly and criminal. Local police are assisting at the scene. Our condolences are with the victims and their families.” According to investigators, the attacker used a flammable substance like petrol to set the church on fire.

This incident has once again sparked discussions on security issues in the United States. Notably, at the end of this week, there was also a shooting at a restaurant in Southport, North Carolina. Three people were killed and five were injured in that incident. Police have arrested a 40-year-old suspect in that case.

Meanwhile, the motive behind the Michigan attack is still unclear. However, local police and federal agency teams are continuing their investigation.
