(Sushila Karki) After the sudden resignation of Prime Minister K. P. Sharma Oli, Nepal's new Prime Minister Sushila Karki took the oath and assumed office. After taking charge, she commented on the relationship with India. She said that India has always helped Nepal and that minor disagreements can sometimes occur in the relationship between the two countries, but the relationship between the people is always full of love and affection. Indian friends consider me like a sister. Our relationship with India is very good and old.

Karki stated, “I will first greet Modiji. While highlighting the emotional ties between the two countries, he mentioned relatives, acquaintances, and mutual goodwill. However, he clarified that a direction will be determined through further discussions without immediately taking a stance on strategic issues.

Karki, who became Nepal's first female Prime Minister, is a former Chief Justice. While studying at Banaras Hindu University, memories of the banks of the Ganges River remain fresh in her mind. She mentioned that due to her hometown Biratnagar being close to the Indian border, she has always maintained contact with India.

Karki, who came to the Prime Minister's position with the support of young activists, has started a new chapter through the democratic process. She conveyed that her primary goal will be to maintain strong relations with India and to strengthen the old ties among the people.
