In light of the escalating conflict between Iran and Israel, the Government of India has launched a special evacuation mission named Operation Sindhu to safeguard Indian citizens stranded in the conflict zone. The operation was initiated following reports of heightened military tensions and significant loss of life on both sides.

While Iran faces numerous international sanctions that have limited its access to advanced technologies, it still possesses formidable missile and drone capabilities, allowing it to engage Israel effectively despite limitations.

Concerned about the safety of its citizens, especially students residing in Iran, the Indian government acted swiftly. Under Operation Sindhu, the Indian Embassy in Tehran successfully evacuated 110 Indian students from northern Iran on June 17, relocating them temporarily to Yerevan, the capital of Armenia.

These students are scheduled to be flown back to India today, as part of a coordinated repatriation effort. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has issued an advisory urging all Indian nationals in Iran to remain in regular contact with the Indian Embassy. Dedicated emergency helpline numbers and contact details have been released for assistance:
