Railway Digital Map : Navigation Made Easy for Passengers with New Digital Facility
The Central Railway has taken a significant step toward enhancing passenger convenience by launching a digital map facility at 25 railway stations across the Nagpur division. This new initiative aims to provide clear and instant information about essential amenities and services, eliminating the need for passengers—especially new travelers—to search or ask for directions.
No More Guesswork for New Passengers
Questions like “Where is the ticket office?” or “Which direction is the waiting room?” are now answered at a glance. The digital map helps passengers easily locate vital facilities such as ticket counters, waiting rooms, restrooms, drinking water points, lifts, foot overbridges, and entry/exit gates. The system also displays the locations of disabled-access counters and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) office.
In today’s fast-paced lifestyle, travelers often don’t have the time—or the comfort—to ask others for directions, especially at busy stations. This can result in confusion or long waits at help counters. To address this issue, the railway administration has introduced the digital map to streamline navigation and reduce dependency on manual inquiries.
Stations with Digital Map Access
This 24x7 service is now operational at the following stations:
Nagpur, Wardha, Sevagram, Chandrapur, Hinganghat, Bhandak, Katol, Narkhed, Pulgaon, Dhamangaon, Chandur, Pandhurna, Multai, Amla, and Betul, among others. More stations in the Vidarbha region will be added in phases.
The initiative aligns with the Central Railway’s broader goal of promoting Digital India and enhancing passenger experience through technology-driven services.
