Kolhapur Mahadevi Elephant : After Court Order Mahadevi elephant handed over to Vantara in Gujarat

A heart-wrenching incident has occurred in Kolhapur. The Supreme Court has rejected the petition of the Swastishri Jinshen Bhattarak Pattacharya Mahaswami Sansthan Math in Nandani, Shirol Taluka, Kolhapur, confirming the transfer of the 'Mahadevi' elephant to the Vantara Elephant Center in Gujarat.

As a result, the police took the elephant near Nishidik. At 12:30 AM, Mahadevi departed for the center in Gujarat in an animal ambulance under heavy police security. During this time, tears were uncontrollable for the people of Nandani as they bid farewell to the elephant. However, the procession of 'Mahadevi Elephant' has been marred.

Around eleven-thirty at night, while 'Mahadevi Elephant' was being taken in a procession, some youths pelted stones at two police vehicles and started shouting slogans loudly. This created a tense atmosphere. Finally, the police attempted to disperse the crowd by baton charging. Some people were slightly injured in this.
