Indigo, one of India's largest airlines, has been facing a crisis for the third consecutive day due to a manpower shortage. This issue has severely impacted the operations of airlines across the country, and 38 flights had to be canceled at Pune International Airport over the past two days. However, today operations at Pune Airport are gradually returning to normal, and efforts are underway to restore regular flight services.

According to Pune airport administration, operations are gradually becoming smooth from midnight to 5 AM. All activities at the airport are running without hindrance, and disruptions are limited only to Indigo's services. All other airlines have adhered to their scheduled timings, and a total of 31 arrival flights and 31 departure flights were successfully handled during this period. Through these airline services, 5,122 passengers arrived, while 4,805 passengers departed. Operations of all companies like Air India, SpiceJet, AIX, Akasa Air, Star Air, and Fly91 remained smooth as expected, but Indigo operated only seven arrival and seven departure flights, while 21 arrival and 21 departure flights were canceled.

IndiGo CEO Peter Elbers has publicly apologized for this situation. He acknowledged that December 5 was the most affected day for the company, with more than half of the daily flights, over a thousand flights, being canceled. His statement sincerely apologized, taking into account the inconvenience to passenger customers. Elbers said, “On behalf of all of us at IndiGo, I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to customers due to flight cancellations or delays.”
