A case has emerged in West Bengal where a female student from a private medical college was gang-raped by three unknown individuals just outside the college premises. The recent gang rape of a medical student in Durgapur, West Bengal, has once again raised questions about Mamata Banerjee's administration.

On this, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee made a statement, which brought her into the spotlight, and her statement was met with disapproval and opposition from across the country. In response, Mamata Banerjee stated that the media misrepresented her statement, and therefore, she will no longer meet with journalists.

While speaking to the media on Sunday, she said, "The statement I made about the incident was misrepresented by the media and conveyed to the people differently. This is very unfortunate, and if this continues, I will no longer meet with journalists. If you deliberately convey the meaning of a statement incorrectly to the people, it is not called journalism. If I say I eat rice, it doesn't mean I am rice. Don't play politics with me," Mamata Banerjee expressed her anger towards the journalists.

What exactly did Mamata Banerjee say?

Before departing for North Bengal, while speaking to the media at Kolkata airport, she said, "Girls should avoid going out late at night. The girl was studying at a private medical college. She told reporters how she came out at 12:30 at night? As far as I know, this happened in a jungle area. An investigation is underway. I am shocked by this incident, but private medical colleges should also take care of their female students."
