MPSC Exam: MPSC Combined Preliminary Group 'B' Exam and Vote Counting on the Same Day, Will the Schedule Change?

The Combined Preliminary Group ‘B’ (Non-Gazetted) Examination conducted by the Maharashtra Public Service Commission is scheduled for December 21, 2025. However, on the same day, the counting of votes for the municipal council and municipal panchayat elections in the state will take place, creating great confusion among the candidates. As two important government activities will have to be carried out on the same day, questions have arisen over the arrangements for examination centers, police security, staff availability, and transportation.​

The district administration and police administration will be heavily engaged in the counting of votes for the municipal council and municipal panchayat elections. This is likely to affect the management of the MPSC examination as well. Especially in the 15 districts of Satara, Palghar, Ratnagiri, Nandurbar, Beed, Dharashiv, Wardha, Hingoli, Buldhana, Washim, Yavatmal, Bhandara, Gadchiroli, Gondia, where examination centers are located, the local administration is facing a major challenge. Examination centers are also present in taluka centers of large districts like Pune and Mumbai. The administration there will also be busy with vote counting.​

Considering the changes in the schedule of MPSC exams and the process of postponing them that has been going on for the past few years, there is still no official clarification on whether the exams will be held this year or postponed again. Millions of candidates are now expecting the commission to announce a decision as soon as possible.
