Mumbai: Bomb Threat to Mumbai and Nagpur Courts, Police System Alert
A bomb threat has been sent via email to the Bandra court in Mumbai, one of the busiest places in the state, today. Interestingly, on the same day, a similar threatening email was received by the district court in Nagpur, causing a stir. As there were claims of bombs being placed at both locations, the police administration has immediately gone into action mode.
According to the information received, on the morning of December 18, a threatening message was received on the official email of the Bandra court. Subsequently, police teams, bomb detection, and disposal teams reached the scene immediately. Considering the potential threat, a thorough inspection of the area has been initiated and security arrangements have been increased.
For safety reasons, court proceedings have been temporarily halted. Lawyers, staff, and citizens have been evacuated, and the entire area has been sealed. Currently, no one is allowed to enter or exit. Meanwhile, the cyber department is investigating where the threatening email was sent from.
On the other hand, the Nagpur District and Sessions Court has also received an email claiming there is a bomb. The email alleged that there would be an explosion in the court building. Following this, local police immediately took control of the area and began an investigation. So far, the police have reported that no suspicious items have been found.
District Bar Association President Roshan Bagde stated that a threatening email was received on the court's email ID in the morning. The email mentioned explosives being planted in a building in the Civil Lines area. Currently, the bomb detection team is inspecting the entire area, and security arrangements at the court have been tightened. Due to these two incidents, a tense atmosphere has been created in the judicial premises of the state, and the police machinery is fully alert.
