Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been declared the most respected person in the world, following a remarkable recognition from Ghana during his two-day diplomatic visit. President John Mahama of Ghana conferred upon him the country's highest civilian honour, the "Officer of the Order of the Star of Ghana", in a grand ceremony held in the capital, Accra.

To mark the prestigious occasion, Prime Minister Modi was also honoured with a 21-gun salute and a Guard of Honour. Expressing his gratitude, Modi thanked the Ghanaian government and shared the news on his official social media handles, calling it a "moment of pride for all Indians."

With this recognition, Narendra Modi has now become the only leader in the world to receive more than 24 of the highest civilian honours from different countries — a record that solidifies his status as a global statesman. These accolades highlight his administrative leadership, diplomatic influence, and efforts to strengthen international relations.

The list of countries that have conferred their top honours upon Prime Minister Modi includes global powers such as Brazil, Russia, the United States, Japan, and South Korea, as well as neighbours like Bhutan and Sri Lanka. Notably, eight Muslim-majority countriesAfghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Palestine, the United Arab Emirates, Maldives, and Egypt — have also honoured him, underscoring his widespread diplomatic appeal.

Other nations that have presented Modi with their top awards include Dominican Republic, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Nigeria, Brunei, Malta, Cyprus, Mauritius, Barbados, Guyana, and Greece.

This extensive list places Modi ahead of other prominent world leaders in terms of international recognition, with Russia’s Vladimir Putin and former US President Donald Trump following him on the list.
