West Bengal is currently in the news. On Saturday, December 6, 2025, suspended Trinamool Congress MLA Humayun Kabir laid the foundation of the Babri Masjid in Murshidabad. Today, Sunday, December 7, 2025, a collective recitation of the Bhagavad Gita is taking place at the historic Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata. It is claimed that a gathering of 500,000 people will take place.

The title of this program is "Panch Lakh Kanthe Geeta Path". The Sanatan Sanskriti Parliament is organizing this event, in which saints and sages from various monasteries and religious institutions are participating. The organizers have called it the largest collective recitation of the Geeta organized in West Bengal and claim it could be one of the largest in the country. The Governor of Bengal, Anand Bose, will also participate in this event and address the audience.

A grand collective recitation of the Gita was held at the Brigade Ground in Kolkata, West Bengal. Around five lakh followers of Sanatan Dharma were present, including saints and sages from many states, including Bihar. Three grand stages were erected, where about 150 saints were present. The program began with a groundbreaking ceremony from 9 AM to 12:30 PM. The chief guests included the chief priest of Bageshwar Dham, Dhirendra Shastri, Padma Bhushan awardee Sadhvi Ritambhara, and Yoga Guru Ramdev along with Gyananand Maharaj Ji.
