Ajio and Myntra Remove Turkish Brands Amid Boycott Calls

Ajio and Myntra ban Turkish brands due to national interest decision
Published on

In a move underscoring national sentiment, leading Indian e-commerce platforms Ajio and Myntra have removed Turkish apparel brands from their listings. This development follows growing public calls for a boycott of Turkish products after Turkey openly supported Pakistan in the wake of India's Operation Sindoor — a military operation targeting terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), launched in response to the recent Pahalgam terror attack.

Among the affected labels, Trendyol — one of Myntra’s top-selling international women’s fashion brands — has been completely delisted. Other Turkish brands such as Koton, LC Waikiki, and Mavi have also disappeared from both Myntra and Ajio.

Silent Exit on Myntra, Clarity from Ajio

While Myntra has not issued any official statement regarding the removal of Turkish brands, Ajio has confirmed the decision. A spokesperson for Ajio stated, “We stand by our customers and the country and are re-examining all our products to ensure they align with the sentiments and values of India.”

Reliance, which owns Ajio, further revealed that it has shut down its operations in Turkey. The company added that the removal process had been underway for several days and was completed on Friday.

Future Partnerships Under Review

Trendyol, a major player in women’s western wear, was among the first to be removed. According to sources, the delisting process began earlier in the week and was completed by Thursday. Industry insiders suggest that the company is now reevaluating the possibility of any future partnerships involving Turkish brands.

Turkish Products Still Available on Amazon India

Despite the removal of Turkish brands from Ajio and Myntra, Turkish apparel and lifestyle products remain available on Amazon India. Meanwhile, online campaigns calling for a boycott of Turkish and Azerbaijani goods continue to gain traction.
