The famous Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand will start 12 days earlier this year compared to last year. Official information has been provided that the 2026 Yatra will commence from April 19. This decision has created an atmosphere of enthusiasm among devotees across the country. The online and offline registration process for the Yatra will begin in the second week of March.

Currently, there has been heavy snowfall in the state of Uttarakhand. The administration has reported that especially in the high mountainous areas, snow has accumulated up to one and a half to two feet. Therefore, the work of cleaning the temple premises and routes is underway rapidly. To ensure the smooth conduct of the Yatra, the state administration, disaster management teams, and local machinery are prepared.

In the Char Dham Yatra, the doors of Gangotri Temple and Yamunotri Temple will open first. After a few days, entry for devotees will begin at Kedarnath Temple and Badrinath Temple. According to tradition, the doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri are opened on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya.

Every year, millions of devotees arrive in Uttarakhand for the Char Dham Yatra. According to the tourism department, the number of pilgrims is expected to increase this year. Therefore, special emphasis is being placed on transportation, healthcare facilities, accommodation arrangements, and security. Although some routes are still closed due to snowfall, the administration aims to open all major roads before April.

Travelers are advised to carry appropriate clothing, medicines, and necessary documents considering the weather forecast. Registration is mandatory for the pilgrimage, so it is essential to register on the official website in time. The Char Dham Yatra is considered a highly sacred pilgrimage in Hinduism. Devotees come here with great devotion to visit the sources of the Ganga and Yamuna rivers as well as the holy abodes of Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. This pilgrimage, starting from April 19, 2026, will be significant religiously, culturally, and for tourism.
