Jeep Accident in Uttarakhand: 8 Dead, 5 Injured in Pithoragarh

A severe accident has occurred in the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand. A jeep filled with passengers fell into a deep gorge and directly into the river, resulting in the immediate death of eight people and serious injuries to five others.
While the jeep was traveling from Muwani village towards Bokta village, the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to fall approximately 150 meters into the gorge. The accident occurred around four in the evening near Soni Bridge. The accident was so severe that the jeep was completely crushed.

With the help of local citizens, the injured were quickly removed from the valley and taken to a nearby hospital. The deceased include four women and a schoolgirl. The rescue team, which arrived promptly at the scene, has started the process of identifying the bodies. As soon as the news of the accident spread, the area was engulfed in mourning. Locals immediately informed the administration and began rescue operations. There were a total of 13 passengers in the jeep, of which five are still receiving treatment.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed grief over the incident. He has also instructed the administration to complete the rescue and relief work swiftly and to provide free and immediate medical treatment to the injured.
