Actor Anupam Kher was honored with the "Sw. Raj Kapoor Lifetime Achievement Award" at the 60th and 61st Maharashtra State Marathi Film Awards ceremony. The award was presented to Anupam Kher in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar, and Guardian Minister Mangalprabhat Lodha.

After receiving the award, Anupam Kher reacted, “I came to Mumbai on June 3, 1981. Despite being a gold medalist from the National School of Drama, the job I was looking for was not available. I was living in a small room in a chawl and I didn't even know the address of that chawl. At that time, hairstyle was given more importance than talent. During that period, I understood my address: Anupam Kher, Kherwadi, Khernagar, Bandra East. Now, those things are 40 years old. My love for this city is still the same. Mumbai is a city with a big heart. Everyone who comes here definitely gets an opportunity,”

He further said, “I have not yet reached the midpoint of my life or career. Even after this, I will continue to work with the same energy and perseverance for 30 more years.”
