Uddhav Thackeray vs MNS: Major Setback for Uddhav Faction in Pune as Key Leader Joins MNS
In a significant political development ahead of the upcoming municipal and local body elections, the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction) has suffered a major setback in Pune. Kishor Durve, the branch chief of Ghorpadi village, along with hundreds of his supporters, officially joined the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS).
The induction ceremony took place at the Rajmahal residence and was attended by MNS leader Amit Thackeray. The event was marked by a show of strength, with large crowds and vocal support for the MNS.
This move comes amidst ongoing speculation that the Thackeray cousins—Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray—might come together for the upcoming elections. However, Durve’s switch to MNS suggests growing momentum for Raj Thackeray's leadership in certain regions.
Speaking at the event, Kishor Durve expressed his trust in Raj Thackeray’s vision and leadership, stating his commitment to work for the development of Maharashtra under the MNS banner.
This political shift is expected to bolster the MNS’s presence in the Ghorpadi area and Pune Cantonment constituency, altering the local political landscape ahead of the polls.
