Bombay High Court Twist: Relief for Aaditya Thackeray in Disha Salian Death Case
The mysterious death case of Disha Salian, former manager of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, has taken a significant turn in the Bombay High Court, offering much-needed relief to Shiv Sena (Thackeray faction) leader Aaditya Thackeray, whose name had repeatedly surfaced in public discourse surrounding the incident.
During the recent hearing, the Maharashtra government's lawyers and the Special Investigation Team (SIT) submitted an affidavit stating that no foul play was found in Disha Salian’s death. According to the affidavit, the investigation revealed that Disha was in an inebriated state before her fall and no evidence of a criminal conspiracy or sexual assault was discovered. The medical report also confirmed the absence of any form of sexual violence.
The affidavit was filed by Senior Police Inspector Shailendra Nagarkar, a member of the SIT formed under the Mahayuti government, in response to a petition by Disha Salian’s father, Satish Salian, who had demanded a CBI inquiry and expressed distrust in the Mumbai Police. The SIT, however, maintained that no suspicious circumstances have been found in the case so far and that no evidence has emerged against Aaditya Thackeray.
The development brings temporary relief to Aaditya Thackeray, although the investigation remains open. The court was also informed that the Mumbai Police have requested dismissal of the petition, citing lack of substantial evidence.
Disha Salian died after allegedly falling from the 12th floor of her building in Malad, Mumbai, on June 9, 2020. Since then, the case has drawn political attention, with allegations of rape and murder being raised by her family and opposition leaders. However, the current stance of the police and government investigators points toward an accidental death, with no signs of external involvement.
