A major development has emerged in the recent rape case reported in Pune's Kondhwa area. Police investigations have revealed that the accused, who posed as a delivery boy, is in fact an old friend of the victim. The shocking revelation has sent ripples through the city, raising serious concerns about safety and trust.

According to police officials, the 25-year-old victim works at an IT company in Kalyaninagar and resides with her brother in a posh residential society in Kondhwa. On the day of the incident, her brother was out of town, leaving her alone at home.

At approximately 7:30 PM, a man knocked on her door claiming to be a courier delivery agent. When the woman informed him that she wasn't expecting a delivery, he insisted she open the door to sign some documents. Once the safety door was unlocked, the accused sprayed a chemical substance in her face, forcibly entered the apartment, and sexually assaulted her. He also took photos of her and chillingly left a message on her phone that read, "I will be back."

The terrified victim immediately alerted the police. Recognizing the severity of the case, Pune Police formed 10 dedicated teams to track down the perpetrator. Their efforts led to the swift arrest of the accused from within the city.

Further investigation has confirmed that the accused is a former acquaintance of the victim, adding a disturbing personal angle to the case. Police are continuing the investigation to uncover more details, including the motive and how the crime was planned.

This incident has sparked outrage and concern among Pune residents, with demands for stronger safety measures and stricter punishment for such heinous crimes.
