Uddhav Thackeray Unites with Raj, Criticizes BJP and Sushil Kedia at Emotional Melava
In a powerful and emotional address at the Raj-Uddhav Vijayi Melava, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray launched a scathing attack on the BJP and investor Sushil Kedia, calling him a "wolf of BJP" and dismissing him as a mere puppet of the ruling party. The event marked a significant turning point in Maharashtra politics as Uddhav and Raj Thackeray came together publicly after 18 years, uniting over the issue of Marathi identity.
Responding to Sushil Kedia’s recent controversial remarks, Uddhav Thackeray questioned his relevance, stating, “Who is Sushil Kedia? They are all BJP’s puppets.” He accused Kedia of being part of a larger agenda aimed at dividing Maharashtra and diluting its linguistic and cultural roots.
In a fiery critique of the BJP, Thackeray said, “When I was the Chief Minister, Marathi was made mandatory in Maharashtra. The Marathi language must be enforced here. But the BJP, following its divide-and-rule policy, has tried to weaken our unity since 2014. They have stripped Maharashtra of its institutions and industries.”
Thackeray continued, “They toppled our government, and now they attack only Amit Shah and Prime Minister Modi, but never name the two businessmen sitting comfortably in Gujarat. Why this silence?” His remarks were clearly aimed at alleged crony capitalism, though he refrained from naming the individuals.
In a direct reference to BJP's politicization of civic bodies, he declared, “Our ‘M’ does not stand for Municipal Corporation — it stands for Maharashtra.”
The Vijayi Melava, held at Worli Dome, was filled with Shiv Sainiks, MNS workers, and Marathi-speaking citizens. The atmosphere was emotionally charged as the Thackeray brothers reunited in defense of the Marathi language and identity. Many see this moment as the beginning of a new political chapter that could reshape the state's future.
