Airport to be built in Beed district; says Divisional Commissioner Dilip Gawde
The state government has taken an important step to give a new boost to the industries in the Marathwada region. With a view to providing air services to the remaining districts of Marathwada, it has now been decided to build an airport in Beed district. The preliminary process in this regard has been completed and the actual work will start soon, informed Divisional Commissioner Dilip Gawde.
The state government has planned various schemes to boost the industrial sector in Marathwada, and as a part of it, 'air connectivity' is being considered an important factor. The construction of an airport in Beed is a concrete step taken in this regard.
Divisional Commissioner Gawade said, "The location for constructing the runway for the proposed airport for Beed has been decided. The proposal has been forwarded in coordination with the relevant agencies. Follow-up is also underway and soon air service will be available to the people of Beed."
This airport will revolutionize the connectivity of Beed and the surrounding districts and is likely to give a major boost to trade, tourism and industrial development. It will also pave the way for locals to connect directly with big cities.
