Bachchu Kadu: Disqualified from the Post of Amravati District Bank President
In a significant setback for Prahar Janshakti Sanghatana chief Bachchu Kadu, he has been officially disqualified from the post of President of Amravati District Central Cooperative Bank. The development comes shortly after he suspended his hunger strike, thrusting him once again into the spotlight of state politics.
Disqualification Linked to Court Sentence
Sources reveal that the disqualification stems from a one-year rigorous imprisonment sentence handed down to Kadu by a special court in Nashik in 2021. The sentence has triggered regulatory action by the Divisional Joint Registrar, who issued a formal notice citing the conviction as grounds for disqualification.
The notice questions why Bachchu Kadu should not be deemed ineligible to hold the bank's top post in light of the conviction. He has been summoned to appear in person on February 24 at 3:00 PM to record his testimony and submit an official statement in his defense.
Case Status: Under Judicial Review
Though Kadu was convicted in 2021, he has since challenged the ruling in the Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court, where the case remains sub judice. However, the ongoing appeal has not stopped the administrative process from moving forward.
This latest decision marks a serious political and administrative setback for Bachchu Kadu, who has remained a prominent voice in Maharashtra politics through his Prahar Janshakti Sanghatana.
