PM Kisan Yojana : Big relief for farmers in the new year; When will the 22nd installment be received?
Farmers are eagerly waiting for the 22nd installment under the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM Kisan Yojana). At the beginning of the new year, it is expected that farmers will receive financial relief, and it is anticipated that 2,000 rupees will soon be directly deposited into their accounts. Although the central government has not yet officially announced this installment, there is a possibility of a major announcement regarding this scheme in the upcoming budget.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget on February 1, 2026. It is expected that important announcements will be made for the agriculture sector in this budget, and more funds may be approved for the Prime Minister's Kisan Scheme, according to discussions. Currently, a provision of 63,500 crore rupees has been made for this scheme for the financial year 2025-26. If this amount is increased, the possibility of an increase in the financial assistance received by farmers cannot be ruled out.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued the 21st installment of the PM Kisan scheme from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, on November 19, 2025. Since then, farmers have been waiting for the 22nd installment. According to media reports, the government may issue this installment in February. After the budget is presented, it is expected that this installment will be deposited into the farmers' accounts around February 28.
Under the PM Kisan scheme, eligible farmers are provided financial assistance of 6,000 rupees annually. This amount is deposited directly into the bank account in three equal installments of 2,000 rupees each year. The aim of this scheme is to provide financial stability to farmers and assist with agricultural expenses. So far, a total of 21 installments have been issued under the PM Kisan scheme, benefiting more than 9 crore eligible farmers. This scheme is considered one of the largest direct benefit transfer (DBT) schemes in the country.
Meanwhile, farmers need to complete some important tasks to receive their installment on time. Specifically, it is crucial to complete the DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) process. If DBT is not active, the installment may be delayed or stuck. Therefore, farmers are urged by the government to ensure that the DBT option is active in their bank account and, if necessary, visit the bank branch to complete the process. Overall, after the budget, a clear picture regarding the 22nd installment of the PM Kisan scheme is expected to emerge, and it is hoped that farmers will receive financial relief in the new year.
