Harshvardhan Sapkal : 'BJP is a witch that devours opposition leaders'; Direct attack by Congress State President Sapkal
Ahilyanagar Congress Currently in the state, hooliganism, oppression, and misuse of power are openly (Congress) ongoing, and the ruling BJP has embarked on a campaign to eliminate the opposition. BJP has become a 'witch that devours opposition leaders', and their only agenda is the politics of defection, intimidation, and false accusations, such a scathing criticism was made by Congress state president Harshvardhan Sapkal at a press conference today. Sapkal was speaking at a press conference organized in Ahilyanagar. On this occasion, MP Nilesh Lanke, Congress city president Deep Chavan, NCP city president Abhishek Kalamkar, along with hundreds of workers were present.
Sapkal said, since the BJP came to power, hooliganism has been given free rein in the state. Today, the opposition does not get a platform for campaigning, and our movements are being monitored. Espionage is being conducted through the government, and this is a direct attack on democracy. The BJP no longer has loyal workers. Therefore, their business has become to poach and break leaders of Congress and other opposition parties. BJP is like a witch that swallows opposition leaders, Sapkal criticized.
In the municipal-corporation elections, setting aside basic issues like roads, electricity, and water, they accused the BJP of trying to ignite disputes such as Marathi-Urdu, Maharashtrian-outsider to make development issues disappear. Also, while the ruling parties in the state seem to be criticizing each other, expressing suspicion that this is a mock fight, Sapkal retorted, first step out of power, then criticize.
Accusing the BJP of implementing an agenda to erase, they said that efforts were made to erase the existence of Vilasrao Deshmukh, Balasaheb Thackeray, and Sharad Pawar. By creating two Shiv Senas and two NCPs, the BJP proved this. Schemes in the name of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee are being closed, and Lal Krishna Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi are also being sidelined. The agenda is to display only photos of Modi-Shah in RSS offices, and they criticized that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is supporting this.
In this year's elections, terror is being created with guns and machetes, and even though there have been murders in Solapur, Khopoli, Akot, the government is not serious, alleged Sapkal. The Election Commission is also taking a biased stance, and there is doubt whether the elections will be impartial, he also said. The fight is on to save democracy and the constitution. The Congress is contesting independently in some places, while in many places it is fighting alongside the alliance.
The Bahujan Vanchit Aghadi has received new support and we are contesting this election to save democracy and the constitution, Sapkal clarified. At this time, MP Nilesh Lanke said, intimidation through power, showing guns is ongoing. This situation is extremely serious. We are committed to electing our candidate by facing all this oppression. Accusing the ruling party of holding the public hostage for political gain instead of giving money to the poor, he remarked that not every meeting ends with my name.
