The power-sharing picture in the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation has finally become clear, with the official selection for the positions of Mayor and Deputy Mayor announced through the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance. BJP's Sameer Rajurkar has taken charge as Mayor, while Shiv Sena's Rajendra Janjal has once again been appointed as Deputy Mayor. In the municipal elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party won 57 seats, securing a clear majority. Against this backdrop, the important positions were allocated by maintaining the alliance between BJP and Shiv Sena for the establishment of power. Accordingly, the Mayor's position has been given to BJP, while the Deputy Mayor's position has been given to Shiv Sena.

Determination to Work Together for Development – Kishor Shitole

BJP city president Kishor Shitole clarified his stance on the alliance, stating that from the election process itself, BJP and Shiv Sena are contesting in a friendly manner. Both parties have come together on the common ground of Hindutva, and it is necessary to work in coordination for the development of the city. He also clarified that priority will be given to working on the basic issues of the city, including water supply.

Shiv Sena leader Vilas Parker clarified the position regarding the alliance. He stated that BJP is the big brother in the alliance and Shiv Sena is the younger brother, which we have accepted. Our direction is the politics of Hindutva and development, and the saffron flag will continue to fly over the municipal corporation, he expressed confidence.

Govind Kendre BJP's group leader

After gaining a clear majority in the municipal corporation, BJP has also accelerated organizational movements. Against this backdrop, loyal worker from the OBC category, Prof. Govind Kendre, has been appointed as the BJP's group leader. This appointment is considered important for social balance and strengthening the organization within the party.

Tug of war for the mayor's post due to veteran leaders

In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar city, there is the influence of many veteran leaders including ministers, MPs, and MLAs. Also, since some parts of the Jalna Lok Sabha constituency fall within the city, the influence of current and former public representatives from there was also seen on the municipal politics. Due to the support of influential leaders behind many of the victorious corporators in the election, there was a competition for the mayor's post. However, finally, an inclusive solution was reached, and the name of Sameer Rajurkar was finalized.
