NaviMumbai Elections : BJP-Shiv Sena to Contest Elections Independently in Navi Mumbai
An important political development has emerged in the backdrop of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation elections. The state's Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had earlier announced that the BJP and Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) would contest the municipal elections in alliance. However, due to internal party disputes over seat-sharing in important cities like Navi Mumbai, Pune, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, and others, the alliance formula has failed.
As a result, it has come to light that in the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, the BJP and Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) will contest the elections independently on their own strength. Both parties have filed nominations for independent candidates (AB form), and now the election arena will witness a contest between Ganesh Naik and Shiv Sena (Shinde faction).
According to political analysts, successful alliance between BJP and Shiv Sena required proper seat allocation, but this could not be achieved in Navi Mumbai. As a result, with both parties contesting independently, there is a possibility of changing the political equations in the minds of the voters.
In the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation elections, the decision of which side the traditional voters of BJP and Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) will support will be determined. Additionally, the contribution of local workers and the popularity of candidates can also have a significant impact on the outcome. According to political discussions, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation election is important for the state's politics, and it is likely to have a major impact on the power equations between the Maha Vikas Aghadi, BJP, and Shiv Sena.
