BMC Mayor: Maharashtra's Politics Now in Delhi's Corridors, Eknath Shinde's Direct Complaint to High Command
In the municipal elections held in the state, the grand alliance has made a strong impact, with BJP emerging as the largest party. Power has also changed in the Mumbai Municipal Corporation, and after 25 years, the Thackeray group has been ousted. However, despite this victory, a new controversy has erupted in politics.
There is a buzz as Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) leader Eknath Shinde has decided to keep the elected corporators in a five-star hotel. It is said that this arrangement is made to prevent other parties from influencing the corporators.
Meanwhile, the Shinde faction has demanded the mayoral post from the BJP for two and a half years. This has increased tensions over power-sharing in the Mumbai Municipal Corporation. It is said that this issue has reached directly to Delhi.
There is dissatisfaction among some BJP leaders, expressing the sentiment that BJP suffered losses in Mumbai due to contesting more seats. Therefore, even after the victory, it is clear that everything is not well within the grand alliance.
