Mega Block : Check the local schedule before stepping out on Sunday; Mega block on 'these' routes
It is essential for Mumbaikars to take special care while planning their travel on Sunday. This is because a megablock is scheduled on the suburban route of Central Railway on Sunday, February 1, 2026. This block is proposed for engineering and maintenance repair work, which is likely to have a significant impact on the local train schedule. Passengers may face delays, route changes, and some locals may be canceled.
Changes on the main route
In the Mumbai division of Central Railway, there will be a megablock on the up and down fast route between Thane and Kalyan stations from 10:40 AM to 3:40 PM. The down fast and semi-fast locals departing from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Mumbai between 9:34 AM and 3:03 PM will be diverted via the down slow route between Thane and Kalyan. These locals will halt at Kalwa, Mumbra, and Diva stations and will reach their destination approximately 10 minutes late.
Similarly, the fast and semi-fast locals departing from Kalyan between 10:28 AM and 3:40 PM will run on the up slow line between Kalyan and Thane. These locals will stop at Diva, Mumbra, and Kalwa and will be diverted back to the up fast line at Mulund station. This will cause delays for passengers. Meanwhile, down mail-express trains departing from CSMT and Dadar will be diverted via the 5th line between Thane–Kalyan, while up mail-express trains will be diverted via the 6th line.
Impact on Harbor Line Traffic
There will be a block on the up and down lines between Kurla and Vashi stations on the Harbor Line from 11:10 AM to 4:10 PM.
During this period, several Harbor local services running between CSMT–Vashi–Belapur–Panvel and Panvel–Vashi–CSMT will be canceled. For the convenience of passengers, special local services will be operated between CSMT–Kurla and Panvel–Vashi during the block period. Additionally, Harbor Line passengers will be granted special permission to travel between Thane–Vashi and Nerul from 10 AM to 6 PM.
