Mumbai Express Highway : During the inspection of the 'Missing Link' project on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis highlighted the importance of this project. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Member of Parliament Shrirang Barne, former MLA Bala Bhegade, along with various senior officials and engineers were present during this visit. The Pune and Konkan Divisional Commissioner, District Collector, as well as the managers of the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation were also present.

At this time, they interacted with journalists, during which they said that this project will not only facilitate transportation but also serve as an inspiring example for the country from an engineering perspective. One of the three tunnels is a whopping 9 kilometers long and 23 meters wide, which will be the longest tunnel in the country. This tunnel will surpass the previous record on the Samruddhi Highway, they clarified. Another feature of the project is the construction of a 185-meter high bridge. This will be the tallest bridge in the country, showcasing excellent engineering skills, Fadnavis noted.

Further, Fadnavis says, "About 94 percent of this project's work has been completed, and the remaining work will also be completed soon, he clarified. He praised the engineers and workers working in adverse weather and difficult geographical conditions. This project, built using advanced technology, will prove to be a 'game changer'. It will be useful in saving fuel and reducing pollution by overcoming environmental and transportation-related challenges."

The 'Missing Link' project is not only going to make travel between Mumbai and Pune easier, but it will also serve as an inspiring example for the country in the field of engineering. It has been clearly indicated during this tour that it will have a far-reaching impact on transportation, environment, and the economy of Maharashtra.
