CM Fadnavis: Chief Minister made a big statement about Dharavi rehabilitation, said "Dharavi to..."
CM Fadnavis : At the Dharavi campaign rally, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis made a big announcement. He clarified that every person living in Dharavi will be given a house where they can live safely and with dignity. Whether eligible or ineligible, no one will be left out, he assured.
For many years, there were only discussions, but now actual work has begun. Deciding against tall and problematic buildings, the government has prepared a different redevelopment plan. Eligible citizens will receive a house of about 350 square feet, with good facilities, open spaces, and a system without the burden of maintenance costs.
Dharavi is not just a slum, but a settlement of hardworking people, said Fadnavis, appreciating the industries, handicrafts, leather, pottery, and food processing businesses here. He noted that all these things will be preserved while developing.
Parks and grounds will be built in the redevelopment, and there will be a tax exemption for a few years. Dharavi will not fall into the hands of any private individual, the government and related institutions will have full control, he assured. Finally, he stated that the government is committed to the future of Dharavi residents. After the elections, the work will gain momentum, and this fight will not stop until everyone gets their own home.
