Weather Update : Cloudy Weather in Some Parts of the State Today, Increased Weather Volatility
Currently, it is observed that there are continuous changes in the weather across the state and the country. These changes are directly affecting the health of citizens, and due to fluctuations in temperature, unseasonal rain, and increasing air pollution, citizens are troubled. According to the Indian Meteorological Department's forecast, there is a possibility of significant temperature fluctuations in the coming days, with some areas experiencing cold while others experiencing heat.
The northern states of the country are still experiencing severe cold. However, in Maharashtra, there has been an increase in temperature for the past few days. Although the cold has decreased, air pollution has not reduced, leading to increased health problems for citizens. Due to rising pollution, respiratory diseases, cough, and asthma issues are increasing, and doctors are advising citizens to use masks.
Even as the second week of January begins, some parts of the country have experienced rainfall. The meteorological department has predicted heavy rainfall in some states. In Maharashtra, citizens experienced heavy rain with winds at the beginning of the year. Since then, fluctuations in temperature have been observed in many parts of the state. Weather experts have predicted that cold weather is likely to persist in North Vidarbha and North Maharashtra.
Meanwhile, a strange play of weather has been observed in Pune city. Within a mere ten kilometers, a difference of up to six degrees Celsius in minimum temperature has been noted. Experts believe that increasing urbanization, the concrete jungle, ongoing development works, and greenery still present in some areas have a direct impact on the local climate of the city. In the past few days, the minimum temperature in some parts of the city was as low as 9 to 10 degrees Celsius, while in some areas it was recorded above 15 degrees.
The lowest temperature in the country was recorded in Bathinda, Punjab, where the temperature was 0.6 degrees Celsius. In Maharashtra, the lowest temperature in the state was recorded at 6 degrees Celsius in Dhule. In Niphad, it was 7.7 degrees, while in Bhandara, Gondia, and Malegaon, the temperature was recorded at 10 degrees Celsius. Today, some parts of central Maharashtra and Marathwada will have cloudy weather, with a possibility of light to moderate unseasonal rain. The weather department has also clarified that light to heavy rain is expected in many places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.
