CNG Gas : CNG Supply Halt in Mumbai; Severe Impact on Traffic
Scroll down to read the news in brief...
Due to damage to GAIL's main gas pipeline, CNG distribution in Mumbai, Thane, and Navi Mumbai was suddenly disrupted. According to Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL), the supply at the City Gate Station in Wadala has stopped, causing many CNG pumps to shut down.
The services of vehicles dependent on CNG, such as buses, autos, and taxis, were greatly affected. With many pumps closed, drivers had to stand in line for hours. Some pumps appeared completely shut down.
Meanwhile, MGL clarified that the supply of domestic PNG continues as usual. Priority has been given to residential areas to ensure there is no disruption in the supply of cooking gas.
Teams from GAIL and MGL have started work on repairing the damaged pipeline. MGL has stated that the supply at CNG pumps will normalize once the gas flow resumes at full capacity, and has appealed to citizens to remain patient.
