Weather Alert : Cold Disappears, Heat Increases; Possibility of Rain Across the Country
Currently, significant changes are being observed in the state's weather. The winter, known for its severe cold, is gradually disappearing from the state, replaced by heat and cloudy weather. For the past few days, all three seasons - cold, rain, and heat - are being experienced simultaneously. The intensity of the cold remained in December, but since the unseasonal rain on January 1, 2026, continuous changes in the weather have been observed.
As the cold decreases in the state, there are indications that the heat is starting to increase. It is predicted that many areas will have cloudy weather throughout the day, and due to the humid weather, citizens are experiencing discomfort. Experts say that these sudden changes in weather are directly affecting the health of citizens. There is an increase in cases of colds, fever, cough, and respiratory disorders. Along with this, the increasing air pollution in many metropolitan areas, including Mumbai and Delhi, remains a serious problem.
Meanwhile, in the northern part of the country, the cold remains intense. The lowest temperature in the country was recorded in Hisar, Haryana, where the minimum temperature was recorded at 4.3 degrees Celsius. In Maharashtra, the lowest temperature in the state was recorded in Dhule, where the temperature was 10.4 degrees Celsius. In Ratnagiri, the highest temperature in the state was recorded, with a maximum temperature of 34.8 degrees Celsius. The weather department has predicted that fluctuations in temperature may be observed in various parts of the state throughout the day.
Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department has issued a major rain alert for several states in the country on February 5, 6, and 7. Even after the monsoon has ended, the showers continue, and particularly in South India, the intensity of the rain is expected to increase. The situation in Kerala remains rainy, and the weather department has issued a heavy rain warning for Tamil Nadu. Heavy rain is expected in Tamil Nadu during the period of February 5, 6, and 7.
In addition, heavy rainfall is expected in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh over these three days. Rain warnings have also been issued for Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Puducherry, Rayalaseema, and Mahe regions. A mixed weather condition is currently observed across the country with cold in some areas, heat in others, and heavy rain in some states. The meteorological department has advised citizens to remain alert and take necessary precautions due to the sudden changes in weather. Particularly, instructions have been given to exercise caution while traveling and in agricultural activities in areas with rain warnings.
