Cold Wave : Cold increased in the state, Maharashtra to freeze in two days
Maharashtra is chilled due to the cold winds blowing from North India towards the south. The state is shivering. The temperature of 17 cities has dropped below that of Mahabaleshwar, a known cold spot in the state. Maharashtra is enveloped in cold. Bonfires are lit in various rural and urban areas. Sweaters, hats, and mufflers have come out. The number of people going for morning walks has increased.
Cold wave increased in the state
For the third consecutive day, the lowest minimum temperature in the state was recorded in Ahilyanagar. It has been revealed that the cold wave will continue in the state. The mercury has dropped in central and western Maharashtra as well as Vidarbha. Due to the cold winds rapidly moving towards Maharashtra from North India, there will be a cold wave in the state for the next two days. In many parts of the state, the minimum temperature has dropped to 7 to 10 degrees. In Ahilyanagar, a temperature of 6.6 degrees Celsius has been recorded. Meanwhile, for the second consecutive day, the temperature in Parbhani is 5.5 degrees Celsius. The meteorological department has predicted a drop in temperature for the next few days.
Maharashtra to Freeze in Two Days
The temperature is expected to be lower than the average normal temperature in the next 2 days. Due to the fast-moving cold winds from the north, the cold is expected to increase in Maharashtra in the next 48 hours. Therefore, the weather department has issued a yellow alert for 16 districts.
Cold Wave in Satpura Region
The Satpura region in Nandurbar district is freezing. The temperature has dropped by 8 degrees Celsius. The lowest temperatures have been recorded in the areas of Dhadgaon, Toranmal, Dab, and Molgi in the Satpura mountain range. The increasing cold has affected daily life. There is a possibility of further temperature drop in the coming days, increasing the chill.
Cold may increase further in the coming weeks
Meanwhile, a yellow alert has been issued for the districts of Jalgaon, Nashik, Ahmednagar, Solapur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Parbhani, Hingoli, Nanded, Wardha, Nagpur, and Gondia. In some parts of Dhule, Niphad, and Ahmednagar, the temperature has dropped to 4 degrees. Due to the increased cold at night, citizens have reduced going out. As the cold waves from the north persist, the cold may increase further in the coming weeks. According to weather experts, due to the impact of La Nina, December and January are likely to be the coldest months for the state.
