Cyclone Ditwah : Cyclone Ditwah wreaks havoc in Sri Lanka; 47 dead and 21 missing
The Ditwah cyclone has wreaked havoc in Sri Lanka. Due to this cyclone, floods and landslides have occurred in Sri Lanka, resulting in the death of 47 people so far, while hundreds have been reported injured. Additionally, information has emerged that 21 people are missing. On the morning of November 27, the Ditwah cyclone (Cyclone Ditwah) struck the eastern coast, and since then the cyclone has caused devastation.
The administration has started rescue operations. The Ministry of Tourism has also appealed to tourists not to visit Sri Lanka at present. On the other hand, according to information provided by the Indian Meteorological Department, the effects of Cyclone Ditwah will be felt in the southern states of India. These storms are likely to cause severe weather conditions in the coastal areas of South India.
The India Meteorological Department has reported that the deep depression formed in the Bay of Bengal on Thursday has intensified and transformed into Cyclone Ditwah. The cyclone is moving towards the coasts of northern Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and southern Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Kerala. Extremely severe weather is forecast in these areas until November 30. The department has advised fishermen in coastal regions to remain alert.
