Shefali Jariwala: Despite Husband's Wish, She Took a Life-Changing Decision; Said, “I Had No Faith in Life...”
The sudden demise of actress Shefali Jariwala, famously known for the song Kaanta Laga, has left the entertainment industry in shock. The 41-year-old actress passed away due to a massive heart attack. As tributes pour in, her deeply personal life decisions, especially her choice not to become a mother, have once again come into the spotlight.
Shefali had openly spoken about her emotional and mental health struggles in multiple interviews during her lifetime. Her first marriage to singer Harmeet Singh ended in separation due to mental distress. Recalling those days, she once said, “It is very important to understand where you are not respected. Mental violence also erodes a person from within.”
These early life experiences took a toll on her mental health. Shefali battled depression, anxiety, and panic attacks. However, with the support of her family and close friends, she found the strength to heal. After the Covid-19 pandemic, Shefali developed a fear of motherhood. In one of her candid interviews, she revealed, “I also wanted a baby, but after Covid, I had no faith in life. Parag (her husband) was ready, but I believed you need to be mentally prepared too, not just financially.”
Her decision not to have a child was entirely rooted in her emotional and psychological journey. Despite her husband’s willingness, Shefali chose what she felt was right for her well-being.
She also faced significant financial struggles in her early years. Before gaining fame from Kaanta Laga, her family went through tough times. “My mother had to sell her gold bangles to pay our college fees. That day, I decided I will earn enough to buy her many more bangles,” she had shared in an emotional interview.
Shefali was also committed to raising awareness about heart health. Recalling a terrifying personal incident, she said, “I was standing on the balcony when I had a stroke. I was about to fall. No one can predict a stroke; it just happens.”
Her life was a powerful narrative of self-awareness, resilience, and independence. Though her sudden passing is heartbreaking, Shefali Jariwala's story will continue to inspire countless individuals facing mental health struggles and personal hardships.
