Devendra Fadanvis: Prioritize completion of projects on time; CM's instructions to officials in warroom meeting
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis reviewed 15 important infrastructure projects in the state in a warroom meeting held at the Mantralaya. Chief Secretary Sujata Saunik, Chief Economic Advisor to the Chief Minister Pravin Pardeshi, Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Secretaries of various departments as well as Divisional Commissioners, District Collectors and senior officers were present in the meeting through video conferencing.
The warroom meeting reviewed various important projects in Mumbai, Vidarbha, Marathwada and Western Maharashtra. These included Mumbai Metro Line 2B (DN Nagar to Mandalay), Metro Line 4 (Wadala to Kasarwadavali), Metro Line 5 (Thane-Bhiwandi-Kalyan), Mumbai Metro 6 (Swami Samarthanagar-Vikhroli), Mumbai Metro 7A (Andheri-Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport Terminal 2), Mumbai Metro Line 9 (Dahisar (East) to Mira Bhayandar), Orange Gate to Marine Drive Tunnel Project, Borivali to Thane Link Tunnel Project, Uttan-Virar Sea Link, Sewri-Worli Elevated Corridor, Pune Metro, Dahisar to Bhayandar Link Road, Goregaon Magathane DP Road, Goregaon-Mulund Link Road and North Coastal Road.
Chief Minister Fadnavis directed that "meticulous planning is necessary to complete the implementation of projects within the stipulated time. To overcome the problems, the concerned departments should organize meetings from time to time and take immediate decisions. The land acquisition process should be completed expeditiously, forest and environmental permits should be obtained on time and zonal master plans should be prepared," he explained.
It was suggested to use modern technology for the redevelopment of Dharavi. Land acquisition for the Wardha-Nanded railway project, purchase of private lands for the Wardha-Gadchiroli railway line, and resolution of the issue of forest lands for the Vadhan port project were directed.
It was also said that land acquisition of the required sites for Pune and Mumbai Metro projects should be done on priority. BMC should acquire land for Goregaon-Magathane DP Road and obtain necessary wildlife permits. MMRDA should transfer the flats built for the project victims to BMC. At this time, it was also mentioned that out of 73 problems in 18 projects in the previous meeting, 31 problems have been resolved. The Chief Minister directed to take immediate action on the remaining problems.
