The Maratha community staged a major protest to demand reservation from the OBC category. Under the leadership of Maratha activist Manoj Jarange Patil, a march reached Mumbai twice. Subsequently, the state government directed the search for Kunbi registrations in the state to issue Kunbi certificates to the Maratha community. A decision was made to implement the Hyderabad Gazette along with the Satara and other gazettes. After that, Kunbi records were found in many districts. The work of issuing caste certificates as Kunbi Maratha and Maratha Kunbi began. The distribution of Kunbi caste certificates to applicants from the Maratha community has started in eight districts of Marathwada. So many people have benefited from it.

98 Kunbi OBC Certificates Distributed

According to the Hyderabad Gazette GR issued after Manoj Jarange Patil's protest in Mumbai on September 2, only 98 Kunbi OBC certificates have been received by the Maratha community in eight districts of Marathwada within three and a half months. Only 594 people had applied for it. After approving 98 applications, certificates have been distributed.

In all eight districts of Marathwada – Aurangabad, Jalna, Beed, Osmanabad, Latur, Nanded, Hingoli, and Parbhani – the distribution of Kunbi (OBC) caste certificates to eligible applicants from the Maratha community is now rapidly underway. With thousands of Maratha families directly benefiting from these certificates, there is a joyful atmosphere at the local level. This has opened the way for significant benefits in educational admissions, job reservations, and other government schemes. The government machinery is meticulously examining cases based on special camps, inspection teams, and document verification, and it is anticipated that the distribution of certificates will further increase in the coming days.

There have been 14 applications from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district, none of which received a certificate.

From Jalna district, 78 applications were received, and 8 people received certificates.

In Beed district, 22 applications were received, and certificates were issued to those 22 people.

Latur received 12 applications, and 9 people received certificates.

In Dharashiv district, out of 13 applications, 4 people received certificates.

Parbhani district received 445 applications, and 47 certificates were issued.

Hingoli received 5 applications, and 3 certificates were issued.

In Nanded district, out of 5 applications, certificates were issued to 5 people.
