Indian immigrants have played an important role in strengthening Britain's economy. A new report released at the House of Lords campus in London states that Indian migration has been a boon, not a burden, for Britain. This report has been prepared by the India Centre at Aston University in Birmingham and 'Here and Now 365' in London.

This white paper titled 'Migration of the Indian Diaspora in Britain: Economic Resilience, Cultural Dynamism, and Global Influence' analyzes the four phases of Indian migration to Britain since World War II. The report particularly focuses on the fourth wave of migration that began post-Brexit, considering migration policies, labor market needs, and the impact of global changes.

The report states that Indian migrants are making significant contributions to strengthening the UK economy and the growth of the service sector through their skills in healthcare, social services, engineering, and technology. The study also highlights that the skill-based migration model helps address labor shortages in areas where there is the greatest need for specialized professionals.

This report recommends facilitating the integration of Indian students into the skilled workforce after their education, encouraging collaboration between universities, industry, and the UK's National Health Service (NHS), and highlighting the India-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA) as a key tool to strengthen services and professional mobility.

Lord Karan Bilimoria, founder of Cobra Beer, said that the Indian community is the most successful migrant community in Britain and an inspiration for others. Manish Tiwari of Here and Now 365 said that Indian immigrants have played a significant role in Britain's post-war reconstruction, digital revolution, and strengthening healthcare.
