BEST Bus : Extra BEST bus services for 10th-12th exam students; big relief for students
The BEST initiative has made a significant decision to provide relief for 10th and 12th-grade students in Mumbai city and suburbs. In the context of the upcoming board exams, additional BEST bus services will be operated to ensure students can reach their exam centers on time and safely. According to the demand from schools and parents, special bus services will be arranged in the necessary areas, as informed by the BEST administration.
The board exam for the twelfth grade is starting from February 10, while the board exam for the tenth grade is starting from February 20. During this important period, BEST has made special arrangements to ensure that students do not face any obstacles in public transport. On exam days, in addition to regular bus services, priority will be given to additional bus services. Especially on routes to centers with exams in the morning and afternoon sessions, extra buses will be made available.
Special Rounds as per School and Parents' Demand
Senior officials of the BEST initiative stated that additional bus rounds will be started in the respective areas based on requests from school administrations and parent organizations. For this, all depot managers, traffic controllers, and relevant officials have been given the necessary instructions. The bus service will be planned considering the number of students, the distance to examination centers, and the traffic situation.
Special Precautions to Avoid Traffic Congestion
Since traffic congestion in Mumbai is a common issue, special attention will be given to bus transportation during exam periods. BEST officials and inspectors will be stationed at various important junctions and routes to ensure buses do not get stuck in traffic. Officials have also been given the authority to temporarily change bus routes if necessary.
Special Assistance Instructions for Students
Clear instructions have been given by the BEST administration to drivers, conductors, inspectors, and other staff to treat students going for exams courteously and provide them with all necessary assistance. To avoid unnecessary delays at bus stops, students will be allowed 'entry' through the front door of the bus during exam periods. This will enable students to board the bus quickly and save time.
Welcome from Parents and Students
This decision by BEST is being welcomed by students and parents. The worry of reaching the exam center on time will be reduced, and thousands of students who rely on public transport will greatly benefit from this. Many parents have expressed that this initiative by BEST is an important support for the future of students.
