The state's Deputy Chief Minister and senior NCP leader Ajit Pawar passed away in a chartered plane accident in Baramati. Around 8:45 AM, the plane crashed during landing at Baramati airport, resulting in the death of a total of five people, including Ajit Pawar. The deceased included his security guard, two pilots, and a female crew member. Ajit Pawar was 66 years old.

For Ajit Pawar's funeral, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, BJP State President Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Union Minister of State Murlidhar Mohol, along with many central and state leaders were present. Everyone met the Pawar family and expressed condolences.
