The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) foiled a plot to carry out a horrific attack in the country using the poison 'ricin' made from castor seeds. In this operation, three people, including a doctor who completed MBBS in China, have been arrested. This has led to the exposure of a suspected terrorist syndicate. From these three, three pistols, 30 cartridges, four liters of castor oil, three mobile phones, and two laptops have been seized.
Among those arrested are Dr. Ahmed Mohiuddin Syed, Azad Suleman Sheikh, and Suhail Mohammad Salim. These three had conducted reconnaissance of several sensitive locations in Lucknow, Delhi, and Ahmedabad. The mastermind of this plot is associated with the 'Islamic State' in Khorasan, Central Asia, according to Gujarat ATS Deputy Director General Sunil Joshi.
According to the 'ATS', Dr. Syed is highly educated and radicalized, and he had planned to raise the necessary funds for a major terrorist attack and recruit young people for it. The mastermind in Khorasan was sending weapons to this gang from Pakistan via drones.
