Harbor Line Service Closed for 14 Hours, Alternative Arrangements for Passengers

Mumbai Local Train Megablock: The daily commute and lifeline of Mumbaikars, the Mumbai local service, will be affected today due to the megablock. Special traffic and power blocks have been taken from 11:05 PM on 13th September 2025 for the work on the new diversion track between Kurla and Tilak Nagar on the Harbor line. This block will continue until 1:35 PM on Sunday, 14th September 2025, resulting in the local service being shut down for approximately 14 hours.
Impact on Local Services
This mega block will significantly affect local services on Mumbai's Harbour line. All down Harbour local services starting from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus have been canceled from 10:20 PM on September 13. Similarly, up Harbour services departing from Panvel towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus from 10:07 PM have also been canceled. Due to this block, local services will remain closed until 1 PM, which may cause inconvenience to passengers.
Alternative Arrangements
The railway administration has made some alternative arrangements to reduce the inconvenience to passengers on the Harbor line. Special local services will be started between Panvel and Mankhurd during the block. Additionally, instructions have been given to BEST and NMMT bus services to provide extra bus services. Police and ticket checking staff have been deployed at railway stations to provide proper guidance to passengers. Pass holders are allowed to travel on the main line.
Block End Time
This block will end at 1 PM, and thereafter the first local from Panvel to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus will depart at 1:09 PM. Similarly, the first local from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus to Panvel will depart at 1:30 PM. The railway administration has clarified that this work is necessary for passenger cooperation and safety.
