Due to the low-pressure area formed in the Arabian Sea, the weather department has predicted the possibility of rain with thunderstorms in Maharashtra over the next few days. The state may experience disruptions in daily life due to stormy winds, lightning, and unseasonal rain. This low-pressure area over the east-central Arabian Sea has moved southwestward in the past few hours and is currently located about 760 km west-southwest of Mumbai. The regional weather department in Mumbai has stated that the impact of rain will be felt in various parts of the state from October 26 to 30, 2025, due to this system.

In the coming period, moderate rainfall is expected in most places in Konkan and central Maharashtra, with the possibility of heavy showers in some areas. The weather department has predicted light to moderate rain and thunderstorms in the Marathwada region between October 26 and 29.

Warning for Fishermen

Due to the rough sea, a situation of rough to very rough sea is expected in the east-central and southeast Arabian Sea, as well as the Lakshadweep, Comorin area, Karnataka, and Kerala coast until October 27. Instructions have been given to hoist local cautionary signals at all ports on the North Maharashtra coast (Dahanu to Shrivardhan) and the South Maharashtra-Goa coast (Bankot to Mormugao). There is a possibility of damage to crops, trees, and huts due to stormy winds, lightning, and untimely rain. Short-term flooding may occur in some urban and low-lying areas. A flood situation may arise.
