Heavy Rain Hits Delhi: Meteorological Department Issues Red Alert for Next Two Days
Heavy rains have started in various parts of Delhi since Friday morning. Waterlogging has disrupted normal life in many parts of the city and flood situation has arisen in many areas. Strong winds started blowing in Delhi and nearby areas in the early hours of the morning. Due to this, many incidents of trees falling have taken place.
A tree fell on a house built in a field in Kharkhari area of Dwarka, Delhi, this morning due to strong winds. In this unfortunate incident, 4 members of the same family died and one was injured.
Delhi's temperature was recorded at 28 degrees Celsius at 8 am on Friday. According to the India Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature today can be recorded at 38 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature can be recorded at 27 degrees Celsius. Also, light rain showers with strong winds are possible from May 2 to May 4.
The rains in Delhi have had a major impact on air services. More than 40 flights have been diverted. Meanwhile, more than 100 flights are expected to be delayed. Road traffic has also been disrupted. Waterlogging at many places on the roads has led to traffic jams in many areas. The India Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for the capital Delhi. Local citizens have been advised to take shelter in safe places.
