In view of the increasing crowd of passengers during Holi, the Central Railway administration has taken a major decision. A total of 209 Holi special trains will be operated on various routes including Mumbai, Nagpur, Ratnagiri, and Chiplun. Every year, during Holi, a large number of citizens return to their hometowns, increasing the pressure on regular trains. Therefore, these additional trains have been announced to avoid inconvenience to passengers.

The Indian Railways has planned to run a total of 1410 Holi special trains across the country this year. Central Railway has a significant share, with trains running on important routes such as Mumbai-Nagpur-Mumbai, Mumbai-Ratnagiri-Mumbai, Mumbai-Chiplun-Mumbai, and others. These special trains will include air-conditioned (AC) coaches, sleeper facilities with AC, and general second-class compartments. Additionally, unreserved special trains will be made available for short-distance passengers. This will allow passengers from all income groups to benefit from this service.

In particular, a decision has been made to run 24 special trains between Mumbai to Nagpur, Kolhapur, Sawantwadi Road, and Pune to Nagpur. These trains will provide significant relief to passengers in Vidarbha, Konkan, and Western Maharashtra.

(There will be a halt at Igatpuri for 01022.) The railway administration has urged passengers to check the schedule and reservation information on the official website. The main objective behind this initiative is to ensure safe, easy, and comfortable travel during the Holi period, as clarified by the railway.
