Jayant Patil : 'How did the plane leave the airstrip?', Jayant Patil questions Ajit Pawar's plane accident
The untimely demise of Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has proven to be painful for the entire state. This shocking news emerged on the morning of January 28, casting a pall of grief over Baramati and the whole of Maharashtra. Ajit Pawar's plane crash has created a significant void not only in the political arena but also in the social sphere. On this unfortunate incident, senior leader of Sharad Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party, Jayant Patil, has expressed his reaction and raised some important questions.
‘How did the plane leave the airstrip?’
Jayant Patil has raised doubts about the causes of the accident. “The most important question is how the plane left the airstrip,” he said. He also clarified that information about whether there was a technical fault behind the accident will come from the black box. The airstrip at Baramati is elevated and has been extended by filling. Therefore, the possibility that the pilot misjudged during landing cannot be ruled out, noted Jayant Patil.
He further stated that there was no fog at the time of the accident. Notably, Ajit Pawar had also traveled on the same plane the previous day. Therefore, this airstrip was not new to the pilot, he emphasized. Sharad Pawar clearly stated that there was no sabotage in this incident, and Jayant Patil appealed not to politicize this tragic event.
Dad's Desire to Reunite
Jayant Patil also commented on Ajit Pawar's personality. “Ajit Dada had remarkable determination, he used to work very hard,” he said, reminiscing old memories. Recently, there were discussions about both Nationalist Congress parties coming together again to contest elections. “It was Dad's heartfelt wish that both parties reunite. Some meetings were also held recently for this,” informed Jayant Patil.
He further stated that there are many personal incidents that can never be forgotten. “He always used to make humorous comments about my attire,” he said, sharing an emotional memory. Finally, he reiterated that there should be strict protocols and checks regarding the security of private planes, making it clear once again that there appears to be no foul play in this accident.
