Heroic Fireman Saves Toddler Dangling from Pune Window, Viral Video Sparks Safety Concerns
A shocking incident unfolded in the Khopde Nagar area of Gujar Nimbalkarwadi, Katraj, Pune, where a toddler was found hanging dangerously from a third-floor window after being locked alone inside the house. A video capturing the heart-stopping moment has gone viral on social media, raising serious concerns about child safety.
According to reports, the child’s mother had locked her daughter inside the house and stepped out to drop her elder daughter to school. During her absence, the toddler, seemingly frightened and confused, managed to walk up to the window and was seen precariously hanging outside.
The incident took place around 9:00 AM and drew immediate attention from bystanders when someone screamed, “The girl is falling!” Residents of the area rushed to the spot and witnessed the little girl dangling from the bedroom window of the third-floor flat. Just as the situation threatened to turn tragic, quick action from a local hero prevented disaster.
Yogesh Chavan, a firefighter with the Pune Fire Department, happened to be nearby. Demonstrating alertness and courage, Chavan managed to rescue the child in time. His swift response is being hailed as life-saving, and many have praised his presence of mind.
Authorities are now reviewing the incident and emphasizing the importance of not leaving young children unattended at home.
