Responding to this, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis firmly stated, “It is God's will that the mayor of Mumbai should be from the grand alliance,” clearly presenting the political front's stance.

Against this backdrop, a new twist is expected in the mayoral race due to a suggestive statement made by Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction) MP Sanjay Raut. “Majority is fickle. If it is God's will, a Shiv Sena mayor can be seated. We are currently observing the developments neutrally,” said Sanjay Raut.

Raut's statement has sparked new discussions about the power dynamics in Mumbai. Although the grand alliance is ahead in terms of numbers, the politics in the municipal corporation has always taken unexpected turns.
