The grand inauguration of the 'India AI Impact Summit 2026' was held today at Bharat Mandapam in the capital city of Delhi. The historic conference was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The summit was attended by French President Emmanuel Macron, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, UN Secretary-General António Guterres, as well as leaders from various countries and technology industry giants.

During the inauguration, Prime Minister Modi firmly stated that Artificial Intelligence (AI) will mark a new phase of transformation in human history. “AI is now going to change the course of human history. India has always welcomed new technology and contributed to making it more capable,” he said.

Representative of 'One Sixth of Humanity' India

Highlighting India's global role, Modi said, “The conference is being held in a country that represents one-sixth of the world's population. India is the country with the largest young population. India is recognized as the center of the world's largest talent pool and tech-enabled ecosystem.”

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw also commented on this occasion, saying, “Delivering technology to every section of society is the government's priority. It is necessary to seriously consider what we will offer future generations from AI.”

‘For the Welfare of All – For the Happiness of All’ Mantra

Clarifying India's stance on AI, Prime Minister Modi said, “A person should not become just a data point for AI. They should not remain just raw material. It is necessary to make AI a medium of inclusivity and empowerment. ‘For the welfare of all – for the happiness of all’ is our benchmark.”

Modi emphasized the democratization of AI, expressing determination to bring technology to the common people.

Enthusiasm of the Young Generation

There was a significant amount of enthusiasm visible in the exhibition section of the AI summit. Representation from over 100 countries and a large presence of the young generation were the highlights of this summit. “The speed at which the young generation is embracing AI has never been seen before. This is the beginning of new confidence,” said Modi.

History-Changing Milestone

Referring to major turning points in human history, Modi said, “Artificial Intelligence is such a change in history. AI is making machines smarter and at the same time significantly enhancing human capabilities.”

The India AI Impact Summit 2026 has proven to be a testament to India's leadership in the technology sector, indicating that India's role in the global development of AI is set to become stronger.
